The First Nations Women's Yoga Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the First Nations Women's Yoga Initiative
  • A First Nations led trauma-informed yoga training for women & 2 Spirit people co-developed with Kwakwaka'wakw communities. FNWYI is a unique, 80-hour trauma-informed curriculum and training that will prepare First Nations women to practice and offer culturally-responsive and trauma-informed yoga programs in their respective communities.
This includes permission for both Cedar+Gold and Yoga Outreach to add you to their respective lists.
  • The first cohort will give preference to applicants of Kwakwaka'wakw descent because of the focussed nature of the FNWYI curriculum. Applicants who descend from other First Nations are encouraged to apply and may be accepted, space permitting.
  • Please let us know if you have any health conditions that will require additional support. We want to ensure that we are able to provide access to the course as widely as possible so having an understanding of any specific needs you may have regarding this will be helpful. Some examples of this may be issues with fluorescent light if you have migraine or difficulty sitting on the floor for extended periods if you have chronic pain.
